Konstantin Sergejewitsch Semjonow ( Russian Константин Сергеевич Семёнов , English transcription: Konstantin Semenov , born June 9, 1989 in Smolensk ) is a Russian beach volleyball player .

Career

Semjonow played his first open tournaments in 2009 and 2010 with Dmitri Nikolayevich Barsuk . He then formed a new duo with Alexei Pastuchow , who reached ninth place at the Åland Open and fifth in the U23 European Championship in Kos . In 2011, Semenov made it with Sergei Prokopjew second ninth place, before he got together with his current partner Yaroslav Koschkarev . At the World Cup in Rome , the two Russians finished second in the group and only had to admit defeat to eventual winners Emanuel / Alison from Brazil in the round of 16 . Then they achieved top ten results at four Grand Slams in a row. At the European Championships in Kristiansand they reached the first knockout round as third in the group, in which they were defeated by the Swiss Heyer / Chevallier . At the following open tournaments there was a ninth place in Åland and a third place in The Hague . The EM 2012 ended for the duo as second in the preliminary round again in the first knockout round, this time against the Latvians Pļaviņš / Šmēdiņš . Then they finished ninth in Rome and fifth at the CEV Continental Cup in Alanya . For the Grand Slam in Berlin Semjonow formed a duo with Prokopjew again. The two Russians qualified for the Olympic Games in London . There they lost their first two games against the later Olympic champions Julius Brink and Jonas Reckermann as well as the Swiss duo Heyer / Chevallier , but with a victory against the Chinese Xu / Wu reached the second round in third place, in which they beat the US-Americans Gibb / Rosenthal had to give up. They then reached ninth place in the Grand Slam in Stare Jabłonki .

From 2013 to 2016 Semyonov played with Vyacheslav Krassilnikow . Krassilnikow / Semjonow reached the final of the Grand Slam in Berlin and fifth place in Moscow . They also won the EEVZA tournament in the Russian capital. In 2014 they started with two 17th places at the World Tour tournaments in China. At the Anapa Open they only lost in the final. They finished ninth at the 2014 European Championships in Quartu Sant'Elena . A week later, the two Russians achieved the greatest success of their joint careers with their victory at the Grand Slam in Moscow. In 2015 and 2016 , Krassilnikow / Semjonow had numerous top ten placements on the World Tour. They finished ninth at the 2015 World Cup in the Netherlands and the 2015 European Championship in Klagenfurt . In 2016 Krassilnikow / Semjonow became vice European champions in Biel and Olympic fourth in Rio de Janeiro .

After a one-year break, Semyonov has been playing with Ilya Leschukov since the end of 2017 . On the World Tour 2018 , the victory at the 3-star tournament in Mersin and third place at the 4-star tournament in Ostrava stood out. At the European Championships in the Netherlands Semjonow / Leschukow came fourth. After numerous top ten placements on the 2018/19 World Tour , Semjonow / Leschukow achieved ninth place at the World Championships in Hamburg . In Moscow they were then runner-up European champions .
