The Kressenborn is a 2.7 km long, right-hand or eastern tributary of the Lubach (Laubach) in the north Hessian district of Kassel .
Course and catchment area
The Kressenborn rises in the Hohe Habichtswald within the Habichtswald Nature Park . Its source is located about 1.4 km southeast of the hawk Walder hamlet Dörnberg , about 1.25 km north-northwest of the summit of Wuhlhagens (about 565 m above sea level. NHN ) and about 350 m east-northeast from near the Tagebaurestsee Höllchen standing forest house heath at about 458 m Height.
Initially, the Kressenborn, immediately leaving the forest edge of the Hohen Habichtswald, flows in an agricultural area like a trench down to the north into the natural area Dörnbergpass , which extends between the Hohen Habichtswald (max. 614.7 m ) in the south and the Hohen Dörnberg ( 578.7 m ) m ) extends to the north. There he passes under the federal highway 251 , which leads from the village of Dörnberg approximately in an easterly direction to the city of Kassel .
The Kressenborn then continues to flow trench-like to the west to and through Dörnberg, to follow the course in the partly natural creek bed almost 270 m after crossing under the state road 3211 (Zierenberger Straße) at the Untersten Mühle at an altitude of about 320 m to the south-southeast warm influx Lubach (Laubach) to lead .
The catchment area of the Kressenborn is 3.74 km².
Watershed
The headwaters of the Kressenborn lies on the watershed of Diemel and Fulda , which is part of the Diemel-Eder / Fulda / Weser watershed . While the water of the Kressenborn, which mainly flows to the northwest, drains through Lubach , Warme and Diemel into the Weser , that of the ancestor , which rises on the nearby Essigberg , passes the Wuhlhagen and mainly runs eastwards, flows through the Fulda to the Weser.
