Zehntscheuer cultural association
The Zehntscheuer cultural association in Rottenburg am Neckar was founded in 1983 as a registered association. It has 530 members (as of December 7, 2019). The first chairman is Karl Friedrich Baur.
goals and tasks
The aim of the association is to promote cultural life in Rottenburg in the areas of music , visual arts , literature and theater .
The focus is on exhibitions by contemporary artists, exhibitions with an ethnological background, photo exhibitions and exhibitions with regional artists and thematic focuses. Sculpture symposiums and art installations took place in public spaces as well as art auctions for charitable purposes for the benefit of projects in the third world .
Since 1983 the association has been organizing concerts of classical music , contemporary music and jazz music with internationally renowned artists, among other things as part of the “Rottenburg Concerts” and in the form of open-air concerts . The "Day for New Music", which has been held annually since 1986, is a cooperation with Südwestrundfunk .
In addition, the association organizes lectures and panel discussions on political, environmental and social issues.
