Kyōka Okamura ( Japanese 岡村 恭 香 , Okamura Kyōka ; born October 6, 1995 in Okayama Prefecture ) is a Japanese tennis player .

Career

Okamura started playing tennis at the age of five, her preferred surface is the hard court. So far she has won one singles and five doubles titles at tournaments on the ITF Women's Circuit . She achieved her best placements in the world rankings with places 223 in singles and 251 in doubles.

Okamura played her first match as a professional player in May 2011 in Karuizawa . She celebrated her first win in November 2013 at the $ 10,000 tournament in Antalya , where she failed in the round of 16. In April 2014 she reached her first individual final at the tournament in Bangkok , which she lost to her compatriot Michika Ozeki 4-6 and 3-6 .

On the WTA Tour Okamura first appeared in the qualification for the Japan Women's Open Tennis 2014 ; she lost her opening match against Olha Savchuk with 5: 7 and 3: 6. She also lost her first match in qualifying for the Toray Pan Pacific Open 2015 against Sesil Karatancheva . She competed in doubles with Miyabi Inoue ; they lost to their compatriots Eri Hozumi and Miyu Katō in round one with 6: 3, 4: 6 and [7:10]. Okamura celebrated her greatest success in singles so far in August 2015 at the $ 25,000 tournament in Noto when she made it into the final, in which she was also only narrowly defeated by Taiwanese Lee Ya-hsuan 3: 6, 6: 3 and 6: 7 11 .
