LA Ink - Tattoos for Life is a TLC- produced US reality show that depicts events at High Voltage Tattoo , a tattoo parlor in Los Angeles , California . It is one of the offshoots of the series Miami Ink and ran on TLC for the first time on August 7, 2007 at DMAX was on 12 December 2007 at 22:15 Premiere .

In August 2011, the broadcaster announced that it would not continue the series beyond the fourth season.

history

The studio is owned by tattoo artist Kat Von D (Katherine von Drachenberg), who previously starred in Miami Ink . After a failure in 2007, Kat left the show and returned to Los Angeles, where she decided to open her own tattoo studio. In the first two seasons she had strong support from the well-known tattoo artists Hannah Aitchison , Kim Saigh and Corey Miller . Her friend Pixie Acia worked as a shop manager, but was fired after the first season. Kim and Hannah left the show in the season two finale to return to their hometown of Chicago .

The show's theme song is Dancing With Myself by Nouvelle Vague .
