State government Klaus I
The provincial government of Klaus I forms the Salzburg provincial government in the second legislative period under Governor Josef Klaus from the election of the provincial government on December 1, 1949 to the election of the successor government, Klaus II on December 11, 1954.
After the state elections in 1949 , two of the five government seats went to the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), which thus lost one seat of government compared to the 1945 election. In addition to the governor, the ÖVP also provided the second deputy governor. The Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ) was able to hold its previous government seats and again provided the first deputy governor and a regional councilor. New to the state government was the electoral party of the Independent (WdU), which was elected for the first time and entered the state government with a state council. After the election of the state government, the government team remained unchanged until the end of the term of office.
