State government Klaus III
The provincial government Klaus III forms the Salzburg provincial government in the 4th legislative period under governor Josef Klaus from the election of the provincial government on July 2, 1959 to the change of Klaus to the finance ministry on April 10, 1961 and the inauguration of the provincial government Lechner I on April 17 1961.
After the state elections in 1959 , the balance of power in the state government had not changed. The Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) continued to have three members of the government, with the ÖVP responsible for the governor, the second deputy governor and a provincial councilor. The Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ) was also able to hold its three government seats and sent the first deputy governor and two regional councilors to the state government. The Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) was also able to hold its regional council. The composition of the state government did not change during the term of office, even compared to the previous government, Klaus IIthere had been hardly any changes. Only Hermann Rainer (ÖVP) no longer belonged to the new government and had been replaced by Hans Lechner .
