The Provincial Government Haslauer I forms the Salzburg Provincial Government in the 7th legislative period under Governor Wilfried Haslauer from the resignation of the previous Governor Hans Lechners and the election of Haslauer as the new Governor on April 20, 1977 to the election of the successor government Haslauer II on May 16, 1979 .

After the resignation of Hans Lechner, the previous Second Deputy Governor Haslauer took over the office of Governor. In his role as Deputy Governor, he was succeeded by the previous Provincial Councilor, Hans Katschthaler . At the same time as the governor's change, Regional Councilor Rupert Wolfgruber resigned from the government, but Anton Bonimaier and Albert Steidl took over as the new ÖVP regional councilors on April 20, 1977 . As in the previous Lechner IV government , the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) provided four out of seven government members. The Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ) sent two government members, the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) one.

During the term of office of the Haslauer I government, there was a change in personnel when Regional Councilor Walter Leitner (FPÖ) left the government on January 24, 1978. Sepp Baumgartner succeeded him on January 25, 1978 .
