geography

course

The Lasterbach rises at an altitude of about 569  m above sea level. NN in a wooded area east of Rennerod , right next to the Wacholderheide nature reserve . It initially flows in a north-westerly direction, then curves to the south-west and runs along the foot of the Lichtenberg . Shortly afterwards, it crosses the K 47 and turns south. After another 500 meters, it changes its direction of flow to the southwest. His path now leads through fields and meadows until, after about a kilometer, it reaches the northeastern edge of Oberrod . He runs through the village, a little later, just before Elsoff , he is fed by the Mittelbach on his left . The Lasterbach flows through Elsoff first to the west, changes its course to the south-west at Dörnerstraße and then passes Mittelhofen, which is overgrown with Elsoff. It is now leaving the village and is reinforced on its right near Neumühle by the Krummbach coming from Hüblingen . There are also a number of smaller ponds there. The Lasterbach now runs past the Krempel farm (since 1415) and then flows along the eastern foot of the Kringenberg . Lined with trees on its banks, the stream meanders through meadows until, after a good kilometer, it enters Neunkirchen . He leaves the place at the height of Heimstraße and changes after about 1.3 kilometers not far from the birch mill from Rhineland-Palatinate to Hesse . It now flows through grassland in a valley basin that lies between the Hohlen Stein and the Heidersberg , and then passes Waldbrunn - Hausen . There are still three old mills in Hausen: the Damm mill (since 1491), the birch mill and the fig mill (both since 1699). It continues its way south, flows along the western edge of Ellar and then through the village itself. After crossing under Dorchheimer Straße , it turns to the southwest, crosses a meadow and reaches south of Mühlhölzchen ( 315  m above sea level ), now flowing westwards, the Gadelheimer Mühlen ( Neumühle , Obere -, Mittlere - and Untere Gadelheimer Mühle ). At Dorchheim , which it flows through at the narrowest point of the place, it turns to the southwest, crosses the B 54 and finally flows northwest of Elbe Valley - Heuchelheim and at an altitude of about 401  m above sea level. NN as Steinbach in the Elbbach .
