Laura Bickford (* 20th century in New York City ) is an American film producer best known for her works Traffic - Power of the Cartel , Che - Revolución and Duplicity - Common Secret Matter . For the episodrama Traffic she was nominated for an Oscar in 2001 in the category “Best Film” together with Edward Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz .

Life

Bickford was born in New York to Jewelle and Nathaniel Bickford. Her father is a lawyer and her mother works in a managerial position at an investment bank of the Rothschild Group. Bickford's three brothers Timothy, Joseph and Ben have chosen the acting profession.

After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College with a degree in film design, the young woman worked as a production manager for political commercials in New York . Following this, she was a production assistant at Robert Altman , in 1987 in Paris the film treatment futile ( Beyond Therapy ) turned. After finishing this work, Bickford moved to London for five years . As a result, she produced over fifty music videos, both in the USA and in Europe . In Traffic - Power of the Cartel (2000), Bickford first worked with Steven Soderbergh and Benicio del Toro . Soderbergh received the Oscar for directing , Del Toro was honored with the trophy for “Best Supporting Actor”. The film also received two more Oscars for “Best Screenplay” and “Best Editing”. He was also given many other prizes.

From 2002 until his death in 2008, Laura Bickford was married to actor Sam Bottoms . For Bottoms, it was his second marriage.
