Laurie Venn

Laurie Venn (born August 24, 1953 in Melbourne ) is a former Australian cyclist .

In 1972 Laurie Venn became a professional racing driver. In 1975 he finished third at the Australian championships in two-man team driving. From 1977 he spent several racing seasons in Europe, especially in Belgium. In 1979 and 1981 he won the Austral Wheel Race and in 1980 the National Party Tour . In 1985 he became Australian road racing champion. In the Herald Sun Tour he won a total of 24 stages in different years. He also started ten six-day races ; In 1978 he won the Launceston with Fred Atkins .

In 1980, Venn was named "Cyclist of the Year" in Australia with the "Sir Hubert Opperman Trophy".
