John Kenneth Trevorrow (born May 18, 1949 in Melbourne ) is a retired Australian cyclist .

Athletic career

In 1970, John Trevorrow won the bronze medal in road racing at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh . Two years later he started in the street race of the Olympic Games in Munich and finished 32nd; In the 100-kilometer team time trial , the Australian team finished 17th.

In 1973 he started in the International Peace Tour and finished 74th in the final ranking.

In 1978, 1979 and 1980 Trevorrow was the Australian road racing champion. He won the Herald Sun Tour three times - in 1975, 1977 and 1979 . In 1976 he finished second in the Melbourne to Warrnambool Cycling Classic and in 1979 he won The Examiner Tour of the North . Between 1976 and 1981 he started in six six- day races ; In 1981 he won the six-day race in his hometown Melbourne with Paul Medhurst .

Professional

After the end of his active cycling career in 1987, John Trevorrow opened a bicycle shop in Geelong . He was also involved in organizing cycling races such as the Jayco Bay Cycling Classic . In 2010 he opened a bicycle shop with a café and training center with its own team, the Degani Bakery Cafe team .

Since 2019 Trevorrow has been Sporting Director of the Herald Sun Tour together with Scott McGrory .
