Russell Van Hout

Russell Van Hout (born June 15, 1976 in Adelaide ) is a retired Australian cyclist .

Van Hout became a professional at Selle Italia in 2000 and drove for Savings & Loans from 2006 . He competed twice in the Giro d'Italia in 2004 and 2005 . In 2005 he finished 153rd and last overall. His most successful season for him was the 2005/2006 season on the Australian continent. He won a stage of the Herald Sun Tour in the fall and a stage of the Tour Down Under in January . He was also champion of the state of South Australia and national champion of Australia. In the UCI Oceania Tour 2006 he finished third overall. In 2009 Russell Van Hout retired as a professional cyclist, but continues to race in his home country. In 2010 he finished fourth in the Australian road championship.
