Leberbach is a hamlet in the Weschnitz district, part of the municipality of Fürth (Odenwald) in the Bergstrasse district in Hesse .
Geographical location
Leberbach is located on the western edge of the Weschnitz district and east of the core municipality of Fürth in the narrow Kerbtal that the Weschnitz cut in a north-west direction into the Tromm- Odenwald, which belongs to the Vorderen Odenwald . The hamlet consists of 13 residential lots with house numbers, which are lined up at intervals on both sides of the Weschnitz. The valley slopes rise steeply above the houses and are mostly forested. The closest localities are Weschnitz in the east and Brombach in the west.
history
After the Kurmainzer Amt Fürth , in the area of which Leberbach was located, was transferred to the Landgraviate of Hessen-Darmstadt as a result of the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 1803 and the establishment of the Grand Duchy of Hesse , in which the Landgraviate was incorporated, a comprehensive administrative reform was carried out in 1821.
In the statistical-topographical-historical description of the Grand Duchy of Hesse from 1829, Leberbach is then mentioned as follows:
»Leberbach (L. Bez. Lindenfels) apartments. Consists of several houses scattered in a valley near Weschnitz. "
After the administrative units in the Grand Duchy were further enlarged and districts were created in 1845, the latest and most thorough alphabetical lexicon of all the localities of the German federal states about Leberbach and Weschnitz was written in 1845 :
“Weschnitz near Lindenfels. - village, for evangel. Parish Hammelbach, resp. katbol. In the statistics of the Grand Duchy of Hesse, Leberbach is named as part of the district and municipality of Weschnitz, based on December 1867: "Leberbach with 11 houses and 63 inhabitants."
In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the municipality of Weschnitz, and thus also the hamlet of Leberbach belonging to the district of Weschnitz, joined the municipality of Fürth on December 31, 1970 , together with Ellenbach . For Weschnitz, as for all municipalities incorporated into Fürth, a local district with a local advisory council and local councilor was set up.
