The 2018/19 season was the 18th season of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A , the top division in the Italian men's basketball club . It was the 97th championship in Italian men's basketball . The main round started on October 7, 2018 and ended on May 12, 2019 with the 30th and final game day. The play-off final round for the championship lasted until June 22, 2019.
AX Armani Exchange Milano started the season as defending champion , while Fiat Torino took on as defending cup .
Alma Trieste was promoted to the 2018/19 season .
After the main round, Fiat Torino was relegated after eight points were deducted from Turin for not paying social security contributions and income taxes. In May 2019, the association also filed for bankruptcy.
Reyer Venezia Mestre celebrated the 4th Italian championship title after a 4: 3 win in the final series against Dinamo Sassari . Cup winner was Vanoli Cremona , which won its first national title and was able to prevail in the final 83:74 against New Basket Brindisi .
International competitions
With Virtus Bologna Basketball as the Champions League winner and Dinamo Sassari as the FIBA Europe Cupe winner, the Seria A had two winners in the European club competitions 2018/19.
