Magnus Erhard Adam Leonhard von Koschkull , also Leonhard von Koskull , (born May 17, 1798 in Königsberg , † May 20, 1872 in Potsdam ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Leonhard was a member of the Kurland noble family von Koskull . His parents were the Prussian lieutenant in the infantry regiment "von Rüchel" Alexander von Koskull (1773-1805) and his wife Friederike Karoline, née von Massenbach (1780-1837).

Military career

Koschkull first visited the cadet house in Berlin from August 15, 1811 . As Portepee - Ensign he was on May 7, 1815 patent on April 26 in the Grenadier Regiment Emperor Alexander the Prussian Army hired and promoted in August of that year to second lieutenant. In mid-November 1824 he was promoted to prime lieutenant . He also rose to captain and company commander in 1834 . In 1843 he became major and commander of the 2nd Battalion in the 20th Landwehr Regiment in Berlin. As early as 1844 he was again a regular staff officer in the Kaiser Alexander Grenadier Regiment. 1848 Koschkull was the 1st Infantry Regiment aggregated and in the same year as the commander of the II. Battalion in the 40th Infantry Regiment added. He was promoted to lieutenant colonel in 1851 and was promoted to commander of the 5th Infantry Regiment in 1852 and promoted to colonel in the same year . Finally he rose to major general in 1856 and at the same time became commander of the 14th Infantry Brigade in Magdeburg . In 1857 he moved for the last time as commander of the 2nd Infantry Brigade to Koenigsberg before 1860, he with the character of his lieutenant-general farewell received.

He was a knight of the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves.

family

Koschkull's first marriage was in Flatow in 1821 with Emma von Plessen (1799–1831). A second marriage to Juliane Müller (1812–1901) followed. Six children resulted from both marriages. The eldest daughter, Anna von Koskull (1825–1902) was superior in the Magdalenenstift Plötzensee . The youngest son (1844–1866) died as a second lieutenant in the 2nd Lower Silesian Infantry Regiment No. 47 in the German War of cholera .
