Liliane Maury Pasquier

Liliane Maury Pasquier (born December 16, 1956 in Geneva ; resident in Veyrier ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ). She was a member of the National Council, President of the National Council, Council of States and President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe .

Life

Maury Pasquier was from June 1983 to January 1992 in the legislature of the municipality of Veyrier and from December 1993 to January 1996 in the cantonal parliament of the canton of Geneva . In the Swiss parliamentary elections in 1995 she was elected to the National Council. In 2001/02 she was President of the National Council . In 2007 she was elected to the Council of States . She did not run again in the 2019 elections. In both the National Council and the Council of States she was a member of the Foreign Policy Commission, the Commission for Social Security and Health and the State Policy Commission.

Maury Pasquier was President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe from June 2018 to January 2020. In January 2020, Rik Daems was elected her successor.

The professional politician and obstetrician Maury Pasquier lives in Châtelaine , is married and has four children.
