Lindomar Rocha Mota (born November 20, 1971 in Arataca , Bahia ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of São Luís de Montes Belos .

Life

Lindomar Rocha Mota studied philosophy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte and Catholic theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome . Rocha Mota was ordained a deacon on February 20, 1998 , and received the sacrament of priestly ordination on July 26 of the same year in the Church of Santa Maria della Perseveranza in Rome by the Archbishop of Diamantina , Paulo Lopes de Faria . He graduated from the Teresianum Pontifical Faculty with a degree in spirituality . He graduated from the Pontifical Gregorian University with a degree in philosophy and received his doctorate in this subject . Rocha Mota also completed a postdoc at the University of Coimbra .

From 2000 to 2003 Lindomar Rocha Mota was Regens of the Minor Seminary and from 2001 also Chancellor of the Diocesan Curia and from 2002 Regens of the Seminary in Diamantina . He was also the parish vicar at the cathedral in Diamantina from 2002 to 2013 . In 2006 Rocha Mota also became director of the Philosophical-Theological Institute of the Archdiocese of Diamantina and from 2007 spiritual at the seminary in Diamantina as well as pastor of the parish São José in São José da Lagoa . In 2013 he became Dean of the Curvelo Dean's Office . From 2015 to 2018 Lindomar Rocha Mota was parish vicar of the parish of São Judas Tadeu in Curvelo. In addition, he was assessor of the Episcopal Commission for the Doctrine of the Faith of the Brazilian Bishops' Conference and professor at the seminary in Diamantina and at the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais. In 2019 Lindomar Rocha Mota became pastor of the parish of Santo Antônio in Curvelo.

On January 22, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of São Luís de Montes Belos. The Archbishop of Diamantina, Darci José Nicioli CSsR , donated him the episcopal ordination on March 14th of the same year in the Basilica São Geraldo in Curvelo ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Belo Horizonte , Walmor Oliveira de Azevedo , and the Archbishop of Niterói , José Francisco Rezende Dias . The inauguration took place on May 16, 2020.
