The Linha da Beira Baixa , in German main line of the Beira Baixa , is a Portuguese railway line that connects Entroncamento on the Linha do Norte and Guarda on the Linha da Beira Alta with a total rail route of 240.2 kilometers.

The line was put into operation in 1891 and at that time the plan was to connect the Linha da Beira Baixa near Abrantes with the Linha do Leste . In the 1990s, the line between Entroncamento and Castelo Branco was modernized and electrified, and between 2009 and 2011 electrification followed to Covilhã. The section between Covilhã and Guarda has been closed since 2009; the renovation and electrification of the 120-year-old line was initially planned by 2018.

On this line, freight and passenger traffic is operated by the subsidiary of the Portuguese state railway Comboios de Portugal . There are three daily Intercidades services between Lisbon and Covilhã. In addition, numerous regional trains also run over shorter distances.
