List of cultural monuments in Mauritius

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list names the cultural monuments in Mauritius (National heritage of Mauritius).

Legal basis

Markings of cultural monuments like here are a rare exception in Mauritius

While previously only individual objects were placed under monument protection by individual legal act in Mauritius, a system was introduced with the National Monuments Act of 1985. The current legal basis is the National Heritage Fund Act (No. 40) of 2003.

The list is based on the annex to this law.
