List of cultural assets in Brienz

The list of cultural assets in Brienz contains all objects in the municipality of Brienz in the canton of Bern that are subject to the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict , the Federal Act of June 20, 2014 on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict and the Ordinance of 29 June 2014 October 2014 on the protection of cultural property in the event of armed conflict .

Objects in category A and B are fully included in the list, objects in category C are currently missing (as of January 1, 2018). Among other monuments protected objects are found, the "worthy of protection" in the canton of Bern Bauinventar than are listed.

Grand Hotel built in 1875 by Horace Edouard Davinet , upper floors reconstructed after a fire in 1884. The representative solid construction with a classicist attitude has echoes of the Swiss wood style . It consists of the main wing with a central projectile and monumental pillar portico hall as well as two side wings connected by polygonal corner towers. The Giessbachbahn , which opened in 1879, also belongs to the culturally and historically valuable ensemble .

Elongated stand construction built from 1890 to 1892 on a wall plinth made of rusticated granite blocks. Slightly inclined hipped roof with ridge poles over a trapezoidal floor plan, pierced by a risalit-like tower porch. The building fabric has been preserved intact in its original state.

The core of the church building goes back to the 12th century. After renovations at the beginning of the 16th and the end of the 17th century, it presents itself as a hall church with a polygonal choir closure under a baroque hipped roof . The church tower with a pyramid roof is Romanesque . The neighboring rectory, built between 1731 and 1734, is a plastered building in the style of a Bernese campaign with a slightly sloping quarter-hipped roof.
