List of tourism regions in Upper Austria

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of tourist regions in Upper Austria is the one for Upper Austria . Tourism Act 1990 established multi-communal and regional tourism associations and conferences ( tourism regions ) in Upper Austria .

At the end of 2012, there were 214 tourism communities in Upper Austria - out of 444 communities,  i.e. almost half of all communities, 16  multi-community (regional) tourism / spa associations with a total of 119 communities ( i.e. around a quarter of all communities and half of all tourist communities organized in tourism regions ), and 5  regional tourism conferences . The other municipalities have tourism associations for themselves.

With an amendment, the associations - based on the model of the existing tourism regions - are to be merged to around 20 by 2019 (minimum size 200,000 overnight stays, 600,000 euros in financing) in order to strengthen the joint marketing measures. [outdated]

Basics

The current organization of the tourism regions was with the Upper Austria. Tourism Act  1990 (LGBL 81/1989, came into force on January 1, 1990) fundamentally re-regulated, and with the Upper Austria. Tourism law amendment 2012 further simplified in accordance with the Upper Austria Tourism Course Book 2011 to 2016 . Today there are two forms of the tourism region and the state tourism organization:

  • Tourism associations or spa associations (Section 1.  Tourism associations §§ 4–21) arebindingfor tourism communities - local classes  A, B, C of the overnight stay intensity , or Statutarstädt . From Kurverband one speaks in the case that the area as a health resort according to the Upper Austria. Healing Resources and Health Resort Act is recognized. Thereis no longer a specific distinctionbetween uni- and multi-communal associations ( tourism regions in the sense of the law before 2012), but rather local and regional tourism associations .
  • Regional tourism conferences (§ 25a, introduced with the Upper Austrian Tourism Law Amendment 2003; here an exchange takes place between the chairmen of those tourism associations that are assigned to the regional tourism conference.)
  • the Upper Austria Tourism (Provincial Tourism Organization) is organized as a public body and acts as a kind of umbrella organization for the tourism organizations and as manager of the Regions brand Upper Austria as a whole.

The task of the tourism / spa associations is “to implement, suggest and support measures for their local area that are suitable for promoting tourism. They have to align their activities with the tourism policy strategy of the Province of Upper Austria. Tourism associations [...] must define this orientation in a tourism concept. In this, the tourism areas to be developed are to be defined and the necessary marketing measures to be planned. ”(§ 4 Z. 5). The tourism conferences serve to "coordinate the respective tourism interests" (§ 25a) of certain regions with a similar destination profile ( tourism division ).

Tourism associations are a corporation under public law . Members are the compulsory members (tourism communities and tourism-relevant professional groups according to the  contribution group regulations , § 35 contribution groups ) and voluntary members (together those interested in tourism , § 6). Organs are the general assembly, board of directors, chairman , possibly a managing director in larger associations (§ 17) as well as auditors .

The regional names as trademarks are largely subject to trademark protection.
