The following list contains, analogously to the list of Celtic tribes , or the list of ancient Iranian tribes , the approx. 90 tribes of the Thracians (still incomplete), which were known to the ancient authors.

- Besi (Bessen, Besser) - (City of Bessapara , Uskudama, southern Rhodopes ) Upper reaches of the Mariza (Hebros), near Plovdiv a . Pazardzhik
- Bizalti (Bisalten) - (on the lower reaches of the Strymon , up to the Hellespont )
- Bistones (Bistoner, Bistonen) - (on the Aegean Sea, between the rivers Mesta ( Nestos ) and Hebros)
- Bithynier - (in Bithynia, Asia Minor, see also: Thynen , Tini)
- Brigi (Brygi) - (Remains of the Phrygi in South Macedonia, who moved from here to Asia Minor, possibly not thrak.)

- Migdoni (mygdoni) - (between the cities of Pella and Amphipolis , the rivers Strymon and Axios (Echedorus), Migdon was also a pre-king in Phrygia, around 1200 BC)
- Moesi - (Northwest Thrace, Moesia between the Hemus Mountains and the Danube )
- Myser - (northwest of Asia Minor ). Narrated by Herodotus and Strabo
- Nipsäi (Nipsäer, Nipsier) - thrak. Tribe, neighbors Messembrias / Nessebar and eastern Balkan.
- Odrisi (or Uscudama ) - (Eastern Rhodopes, around Adrianopolis , on the rivers Arda , Tonsos , Hebros , Nestos , Strymon and Erkene ) founded around 470 BC. The kingdom of Odrysen
- Odomanti ( odomanti ) - Thracian. Trunk on the lower reaches of the Strymon
- Paioni (paeoni) - (Peons, between Western Thrace and Illyria , on the Axios river, probably Illyrian, partly mixed with Thracians, was expelled or assimilated by the Macedonians)

- Paiti (on the Aegean Sea, eastern neighbors of the Bistoni)
- Paphlagoni (Paphlagonia in Asia Minor, part of Phrygia descendants of the Eneti )

- Pierer (Pierier, Pierien, Pieria -Thraker) - thrak. Tribe in South Macedonia around Mount Olympus and Pierus Mountain, home of Orpheus and the Muses , south of the Pieria Mountains (previously inhabited by Pelasgern). Founded the Polis Dion at the north foot of the Olympus massif. Their first guide was Pieros .
