The following list contains, analogously to the list of Celtic tribes , or the list of ancient Iranian tribes , the approx. 90 tribes of the Thracians (still incomplete), which were known to the ancient authors.

  8. Bizalti (Bisalten) - (on the lower reaches of the Strymon , up to the Hellespont )
  9. Bistones (Bistoner, Bistonen) - (on the Aegean Sea, between the rivers Mesta ( Nestos ) and Hebros)
  10. Bithynier - (in Bithynia, Asia Minor, see also: Thynen , Tini)
  11. Brigi (Brygi) - (Remains of the Phrygi in South Macedonia, who moved from here to Asia Minor, possibly not thrak.)

  55. Odrisi (or Uscudama ) - (Eastern Rhodopes, around Adrianopolis , on the rivers Arda , Tonsos , Hebros , Nestos , Strymon and Erkene ) founded around 470 BC. The kingdom of Odrysen
  56. Odomanti ( odomanti ) - Thracian. Trunk on the lower reaches of the Strymon
  57. Paioni (paeoni) - (Peons, between Western Thrace and Illyria , on the Axios river, probably Illyrian, partly mixed with Thracians, was expelled or assimilated by the Macedonians)

  59. Paiti (on the Aegean Sea, eastern neighbors of the Bistoni)

Founded the Polis Dion at the north foot of the Olympus massif. Their first guide was Pieros .
