This list of Israeli-Portuguese city and community partnerships shows the city and community friendships between the countries of Israel and Portugal .
The Israeli-Portuguese friendships between cities are primarily related to the long history of Judaism in Portugal . This is why so far mainly places of the Rede de Judiarias , the union of medieval Portuguese towns with historical Jewish communities, have entered into such town twinning. The first city friendship of this kind was set up in 1982, three more have followed (as of 2010).
