This list of Sino-Portuguese city and community partnerships shows the city and community friendships between the People's Republic of China and Portugal .

So far, 25 partnerships of this kind exist or are being sought (as of 2015). The first Sino-Portuguese city friendship was established in 1982 between the Portuguese capital Lisbon and the Chinese special administrative region of Macau , which had been Portuguese possession since the 16th century .

The long tradition-steeped Sino-Portuguese relations are a point of reference for the town twinning.
