This list of Mozambican-Portuguese city and community partnerships shows the city ​​and community friendships between the countries of Mozambique and Portugal .

The town twinning is a sign of the centuries-old Mozambican-Portuguese relations . After the former Portuguese colony Mozambique gained independence in 1975 , the capitals Maputo and Lisbon formed the first Mozambican-Portuguese city friendship in 1982. A total of 49 Mozambican-Portuguese partnerships already exist or are being initiated (as of 2016), with many cities maintaining partnerships with several locations.
