Reason: I make myself unpopular: what encyclopedic purpose and sense does this list fulfill when the sources (e.g. Presley) say "bathroom" (even if it may be euphemistic) or the people have no article at all? People have to die somewhere, and yes, the toilet is a common place for several reasons ... Please discuss, I really don't get the point. Si! SW on P 00:02, Aug 31, 2020 (CEST)

The following list of people who died in the toilet includes people who died while using a toilet , defecating or urinating, or in any other connection with going to the toilet. This includes all confirmed historical cases and most recent notable deaths.

November 30, 1016 Oxford or London , England King Edmund II ? Heinrich von Huntingdon wrote in the 12th century that he was stabbed by a stab in the intestine while defecating .
November 4, 1035 Lysá nad Labem Jaromír (Duke of Bohemia ) ? Stabbed by a spear while defecating .
February 27, 1076 Vlaardingen Gottfried IV. (Duke of Lower Lorraine) approx. 37 According to a report by Lampert von Hersfeld , he was murdered while relieving himself in the toilet bay on behalf of the Count of Flanders, Robert the Frisian . Another tradition adds that the perpetrator stuck a dagger into the anus of the duke, whereupon the duke died of the injury.
4th August 1306 Olomouc Wenceslaus III (Bohemia) 16 Killed with a spear while relieving himself in the lavatory.

16th to 17th centuries

April 10, 1966 Tillion, Somerset , England Evelyn Waugh 62 He died of a heart attack after going to the bathroom.
3rd August 1966 Hollywood , California Lenny Bruce 40 Allegedly died of a heroin overdose . There was a needle in his arm when he was found.
June 22, 1969 Chelsea (London) , England Judy Garland 47 She died of an overdose of 10 tablets of the barbiturate secobarbital , probably accidentally because the pack of 25 tablets was only halfway up and another bottle of 100 tablets was unopened.
August 16, 1977 Memphis , Tennessee Elvis Presley 42 Sudden cardiac death while in the bathroom. Today doctors assume that Presley's severe chronic bowel disease, which points to Hirschsprung's disease and for which the entertainer had long been treated, is related to sudden cardiac death. A connection with polypragmasia (ie taking too many medications) is also being discussed .
January 19, 1996 Bel Air , Los Angeles , California Don Simpson 52 Simpson was found dead in his bathroom in his Los Angeles home . The cause of death was myocardial infarction . Various websites report that he had over 20 different drugs in his body at the time of his death , including various psychoactive substances .

June 21, 2019 Doha , Qatar Toufiq M. Seraj 63 On the way to Spain , he passed out in an airplane toilet and received emergency treatment. He was later pronounced dead at Doha Airport .
