Lyudmila Vasilyevna Rogacheva
Lyudmila Wassiljewna Rogatschowa ( Russian Людмила Васильевна Рогачёва , English transcription Lyudmila Rogachova ; born October 30, 1966 in Lad Balka , Stavropol region ) is a former Russian middle-distance runner and Olympic runner-up .
In 1991 she won gold at the World Indoor Championships in Seville and bronze at the World Championships in Tokyo in her specialty, the 1500 meter run .
At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona she started for the united team of the CIS and won the silver medal over 1500 meters behind the Algerian Hassiba Boulmerka (gold) and ahead of the Chinese Qu Yunxia (bronze).
After a 13th place at the 1993 World Championships in Stuttgart , she won the 1500 meter title at the 1994 European Championships in Helsinki . This time she also started over 800 meters and won bronze there.
Rogacheva competed over 1500 meters at two other world championships: in 1995 in Gothenburg she was ninth, in 1999 in Seville she was eliminated in the preliminary run. At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney she reached the semifinals.
