Life

Christopher Uhe, called Krite, founded the band Speed Niggs in Detmold in 1989 together with Jan Beigel and Mark Müller . The debut album Boston Beigel Yeah! was named album of the month in the music magazine Spex in autumn 1989 . The band released two more albums up to 1992 (then collaborations with Evan Dando from The Lemonheads and Tom Liwa ), various singles and sampler contributions and completed several tours. After several line-up changes, the Speed Niggs disbanded in the summer of 1992. Uhe founded the Duo Locust Fudge in 1993 together with Dirk Dresselhaus , known as Schneider . Various albums and tours followed; The band has been on hold since 1998 and only appears sporadically in Berlin. Locust Fudge worked as a quartet with Markus and Micha Acher from The Notwist between 1994 and 1996 under the name Family Affair. At the same time, Christopher Uhe and Mark Kowarsch (née Müller) founded the band Sharon Stoned, which released two albums, an EP, a 7-inch single and several contributions to compilations, often worked with guest musicians (including the Acher brothers , Lou Barlow , Dirk von Lowtzow , Evan Dando), but disbanded in 1997. In 1994 and 1995 Uhe worked in parallel with the band Great Tuna !, which only released one album and was also disbanded after two tours. Between 1993 and 1997 several other projects were realized, including the band Floor together with the drummer Michaela Latzel. This collaboration resulted in the album Free Range in 2000 . In 1999, Christopher Uhe and Dirk Dresselhaus moved from East Westphalia to Berlin , where the two of them, together with the Japanese performance artist Hanayo, formed the band Paincake , which - unlike the post-punk and indie rock of previous bands and projects - are more interested the interface between noise and performance . A later member of the band Paincake was Vredeber Albrecht , producer of Commercial Breakup and keyboard player at Blumfeld . At the same time, Uhe played for some time with Heike Rädeker (bassist with 18th Dye ) and Christoph Hein (drummer with Mina) in the Evonike group. Since 1993, Christopher Uhe has worked primarily as a producer (for Ragazzi , The Innits , Julia Hummer & Too Many Boys, among others ). Together with Vredeber Albrecht, Uhe produced theater music for the Volksbühne on Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz and the Prater of the Volksbühne. Christopher Uhe lives and works in Berlin and is a board member of the Kulturforum Berlin-Alexanderplatz eV
