Lorenz von der Linde (born July 30, 1610 in Stockholm ; † June 25, 1670 there ) was a Swedish field marshal .

Lorenz von der Linde belonged to the noble family von der Linde . He was a son of the royal Swedish commissioner and general factor in Holland , Erik Larsson von der Linde († 1636) and Wendela Jacobsdotter Lohrman († 1656).

He graduated from the autumn of 1627 in Leiden . He was then sent by King Gustav II Adolf . Then he embarked on the career of an officer in the Swedish army, initially with the rank of colonel in the German infantry regiment within the Swedish armed forces on the German war playground . In 1647 he advanced to the rank of major general.

On April 10, 1651 he was appointed to the Royal Swedish Imperial and War Council. Together with his brothers Erik (1611-1666), Swedish Councilor, marshal and ambassador , and Jacob (1612-1668), Lord of Catharinæholm and Wigersberg in Södermanland , he was of Queen Christina on 14 May 1651 the Swedish baron as Baron to Lindenborg ennobled . The introduction to the baron class of the Swedish nobility took place in 1654 (No. 38).

From May 1653 he served as a major in the bodyguard , became general in the infantry on April 14, 1555 and during the Northern War governor of Elbing and commander of the Swedish garrison in Prussia and Pomerania . He became the closest confidante of Duke Adolf Johann I , was promoted to field marshal lieutenant on February 20, 1658 and was his successor as commander of the Swedish army in Pomerania from August 1659. On July 26, 1665 he was appointed field marshal. Due to the absence of Adolf Johann I as Reichsmarschall , he also took over the chairmanship of the Swedish War College from 1667 to 1669 .

As an absolutely loyal person he also enjoyed the unreserved trust of Queen Christina and King Karl X. Gustav , was one of the friends of the Governor General of Estonia Bengt Klasson Horn or Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie . An exchange of letters with Karl X. Gustav from 1647 shows the trust placed in him. So he was also the successful wooer of Duke Friedrich III. from Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf .

Lorenz Erikson von der Linde (1610–1670) was also the lord of Neukloster . He died unmarried and was buried in Lovö Church in Stockholm. His coat of arms epitaph hangs there to the right of the pulpit .
