Career

In Argentina

On October 10, 2008, he scored his first goal as a professional against Rosario Central . After 68 appearances and six goals, he moved to Racing Club in 2011 , where Castro was mostly used on the left side of the wing, while team-mate Mauro Camoranesi played on the right side. After a season with 26 appearances and five goals, Castro moved to Calcio Catania in Italy on July 20, 2012 for the sum of 2.5 million euros , where he signed a five-year contract.

In Italy

Castro played in Catania for three years and was used here regularly, even if he was never a regular regular. In addition, Castro proved to be a flexible footballer and played in almost every offensive position.

Chievo Verona signed him in 2016, and he made his debut on the first day of the 2015/16 season in an encounter against FC Empoli , which ended with a 3-1 win. On the 4th matchday of the 2016/17 season , Castro scored a goal himself in a 2-1 win against Udinese Calcio and prepared another goal. While Castro still played in various positions during his time at Catania, Chievos coach Rolando Maran often lets him play in the position of central midfield.
