Lucy Wirth (* 1984 in Zurich ) is a Swiss actress .

Life

Lucy Wirth grew up in her native city of Zurich. From 2004 to 2007 she completed her acting studies at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. During her training she already performed at the Münchner Kammerspiele .

She had her first permanent engagement from 2007 to 2009 at the Stadttheater Bern . There she played u. a. the title role in “ Yvonne, the Burgundy princess ” by Witold Gombrowicz (director: Matthias Kaschig , 2008), the Célimène in “ Der Menschenfeind ” (director: Stefan Otteni , 2008) and Stella in “ Endstation Sehnsucht ” (director: Ingo Kerkhof , 2009 ). From 2009 to 2011 she was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Bavarian State Theater under the direction of Dieter Dorn , where she a. a. who played the hero in “ Much Ado About Nothing ” (2010, director: Jan Philipp Gloger ), the title role in “ Rose Bernd ” (2010, director: Enrico Lübbe ) and Das Käthchen von Heilbronn (2011, director: Dieter Dorn).

In 2011 she appeared at the Augsburg Theater as Dorine in “ Tartuffe ” (with Nicholas Reinke as a partner) and as Amalia in “ Die Räuber ”.

From the 2012/13 season until 2014 she was a permanent member of the Schaubühne Berlin ensemble for two seasons , where she a. a. in “ The Black Rider ” (director: Friederike Heller , 2012), in “Angst essen Deutschland auf” based on texts by Rainer Werner Fassbinder (director: Patrick Wengenroth , 2013) and as Karin Timm in “ The bitter tears of Petra von Kant ” (Director: Patrick Wengenroth, 2013) appeared.

In the 2015/16 season she was a guest at the Theater am Neumarkt in Zurich in “ Nora. A doll's house ». In the 2018/19 season she appeared there in the solo performance "Gun Love" (based on the celebrated novel by Jennifer Clement ).

Lucy Wirth also stood in front of the camera for several film and television works. In « Drei Hours », the graduation film by the director and screenwriter Boris Kunz , which premiered at the Hofer Filmtage 2012 in October 2012 , she played Johanna, a character alongside Nicholas Reinke and Claudia Eisinger in the leading roles. who "believes uncompromisingly in love".

Awards

Lucy Wirth has received several awards for her performance. She received the Kurt Meisel Prize twice , first for her performance in the solo evening “Die Rote Zora” (2010) and the following year for the title role “Das Käthchen von Heilbronn” (2011), both at the Bavarian State Theater. The Bavarian Art Prize followed in 2011 and the Prize of the International Lake Constance Conference in 2012 .
