Kurt Meisel Prize

The Kurt Meisel Prize is a theater prize that the Association of Friends of the Bavarian State Theater has awarded annually since 1997 for outstanding artistic achievements at the Bavarian State Theater . It is named after Kurt Meisel , the director, actor and artistic director of the Staatsschauspiel who died in 1994, and is currently endowed with 5,000 euros. In addition, promotional prizes for young theater talents have been awarded since 1983, each endowed with 3,000 euros.
