Ludmila Fedorovna Sabolotnaja married Solotarjowa ( Russian Людмила Федоровна Заболотная , married Золотарёва * 8. July 1960 in Walerjanowka , area Qostanai , then Kazakh SSR ) is a former Soviet biathlete .
Ludmilla Sabolotnjana is one of the pioneers of her sport. She took part in the first ever biathlon world championships for women in Chamonix, France . In the first race, the sprint, with three shooting errors in the standing position, she missed a medal by just one place and about 25 seconds against the Austrian Andrea Grossegger and silver by almost 30 seconds against the Norwegian Sanna Grønlid . She won this with silver in the subsequent individual behind her teammate Wenera Tschernyschowa and in front of her compatriot Tatiana Brylina . With three mistakes in three shoots, she was only 9.2 seconds behind the winner with four mistakes and about 19 seconds ahead of the third placed, who also made four mistakes. In the relay she was appointed to the side of Wenera Tschernyschowa and Kaija Parve and won with them the first Soviet of eight relay gold medals in a row. In her career she won five titles in Soviet championships.
After her sports career, she became a sports teacher at school № 13 in Kurgan .
