Ludwig Münch
Franz Karl Ludwig Georg Münch (born February 3, 1852 in Groß-Gerau , † August 12, 1922 in Darmstadt ) was a German school director and politician ( NLP ) and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .
Ludwig Münch was the son of district doctor Georg Karl Ludwig Münch and his wife Susanne Isaline, née Chautems. He completed a degree in philology, mathematics and physics. Münch, who was of Protestant faith, married twice. In his second marriage he married Alwine nee Petersen.
He was a prov. Realteacher in Groß-Gerau. In 1877 he became a teacher at the LGG Darmstadt , 1886-1892 director of the Realschule Wimpfen and in 1894 director of the Realgymnasium in Darmstadt. In 1904 he was appointed a secret school councilor.
From 1909 to 1918 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of the city of Darmstadt .
From 1910 onwards, Ludwig Münch produced 30 cartoons that were to be used in mathematics classes and explained various topics from the field of geometry. Münch also showed the films at conferences, thus promoting the use of films in school lessons. Twenty of these educational cartoons have been preserved and are now in the Federal Archives (Berlin Film Archive) and in the German Film Institute in Wiesbaden.
