Hector Rössler

Johann Hektor Rössler (born July 1, 1806 in Gießen ; † May 11, 1875 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian civil servant and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Hektor Rössler was the son of the university mechanic and coin advisor Hektor Johann Rössler and his wife Katharina Elisabethe, née Schäfer. Rössler, who was of Protestant faith, married Louise Friederike Eleonore née Hess on November 10, 1832, the daughter of the chief building officer Johann Hess.

Rössler studied from 1824 in Gießen, Göttingen and Paris . Until 1836 he was a computer at Ludwigshütte . In 1836 he became secretary of the trade association and the central office for the trade and agricultural trade association. On September 5th of the same year he became a teacher for descriptive geometry and mechanical engineering, technology of mechanical engineering and machine drawing at the higher industrial school in Darmstadt . From 1840 he was a member of the crafts school commission. In 1841 he was exempted from teaching and on March 9 was appointed to the Council of Commerce.

In 1842 he was one of the directors of the first general German industrial exhibition in Mainz . On October 20, 1852 he was appointed to the government . From 1855 to 1856 he was a commissioner and later a member of the jury at trade shows. In 1856 he was promoted to senior building officer and headed the mining, metallurgical, saltworks and calibration department at the superstructure directorate.

In 1862 he was a member of the commission for state statistics and in 1864 mint master in the mint administration with the title of secret mountain ridge.

From 1856 to 1862 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of the city of Darmstadt . In the estates he represented liberal-conservative positions.
