August Strecker

Johann Friedrich August Strecker (born March 27, 1802 in Darmstadt ; † September 9, 1865 ibid) was a Hessian judge and politician ( progress ) and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

August Strecker was the son of Major Karl Ludwig Strecker and his wife Catharine Margarethe, née Schenck. Strecker, who was Protestant, married Augustine, born Augustine Mangold (1808–1865) in Darmstadt on August 6, 1831, the daughter of the court music director Georg Mangold .

He studied law. During his studies in 1819 he became a member of the Gießener Allgemeine Burschenschaft Germania and the Heidelberg Burschenschaft. After completing his studies, in 1825 he became secretary and actuary at the Higher Military Court in Darmstadt and at the same time assessor with a voice at the city court there . In 1830 he became a city judge in Darmstadt and in 1849 a member and councilor at the Darmstadt court .

From 1849 to 1850 and again from 1862 to 1865 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Starkenburg 2 / Darmstadt or constituency of the city of Darmstadt. From 1862 to 186 he was President of the Second Chamber. From 1851 to 1856 he was a member of the first chamber of the estates.
