Ludwig Hallwax
Ludwig Hallwachs (* December 23, 1826 in Darmstadt ; † January 9, 1903 there ) was a Hessian judge and politician and a member of the 1st and 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .
Ludwig Hallwachs was the son of the Minister and President of the State Council Wilhelm Hallwachs and his third wife Maria Wilhelmina, née Sartorius (1794–1884). Hallwachs, who was a Protestant, married Charlotte Emilie Wilhelmine, née Hoffmann (1826–1863) , on July 8, 1855 in Darmstadt . Their son Wilhelm Hallwachs emerged from the marriage.
Hallwachs studied in Giessen and Heidelberg law . During his studies in 1844 he co-founded the Allemannia Gießen fraternity . He became a court attorney and in 1853 second substitute for the public prosecutor at the criminal senate of the Darmstadt court . In 1862 he became an assessor with vote at the Darmstadt Court Court , where he became Court Judge in 1865. In 1872 he moved to the Ministry of the Interior and Justice in the government of the Grand Duchy of Hesse as Ministerialrat . In 1879 he was given the title of Privy Councilor and in 1884 became a Privy State Councilor. In 1896 he was retired.
From 1866 to 1872 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of the city of Darmstadt . In 1898 he was appointed a lifelong member of the first chamber. He was an honorary doctor (Dr. theol. Hc) from the University of Giessen .
