Ludwig von Nolte

Johann Ludwig Nolte , von Nolte since 1836 (born October 4, 1795 in Plock , † October 29, 1866 in Hermsdorf ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

Ludwig was a son of the Prussian captain Johann Karl Ludwig Nolte (1758-1813) and his wife Charlotte Christinane, née Günther (* 1774). His father died of the wounds he had received at Bautzen .

Military career

On February 18, 1813, Nolte joined the 2nd Reserve Battalion of the 2nd West Prussian Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army as a musketeer . From there he came on March 21, 1813 as a Second Lieutenant in the 7th Reserve Infantry Regiment . During the Wars of Liberation , he acquired the Iron Cross 2nd class in the Battle of Großgörschen . He fought near Bautzen , Dresden and Kulm , where he was wounded. In the campaign of 1815 he fought at Wavre and Ligny , where he received a commendation. He was also in the battle at Jeanvilliers.

After the war, Nolte rose to captain and company commander by mid-June 1826 . On 12 February 1836 he was the hereditary Prussian nobility raised . On September 30, 1839, he was promoted to major and appointed commander of the 2nd Battalion in the 4th Landwehr Regiment. From March 31, 1846 to January 1, 1849 Nolte was active in the 25th Infantry Regiment . He was then appointed commander of the 17th Infantry Regiment and promoted to lieutenant colonel in early May 1849 . In the same year Nolte took part in the battle near Huttenheim during the suppression of the Baden Revolution .

On January 18, 1851 he was promoted to colonel . He joined the 22nd Infantry Brigade on April 25, 1854, and was promoted to major general on July 13, 1854 . Under awarding of the character as General Lieutenant Nolte was on 5 December 1857 board for disposition made. On the occasion of the coronation of King Wilhelm I on October 18, 1861, he received the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with swords on the ring, before he died on October 29, 1866 in Hermsdorf.

Nolte married Clementine von Kesseler (1809–1874) on May 18, 1836 in Jülich . The couple had two daughters:

  • Marie Luise Therese Huberta (1838–1893) ⚭ 1862 Hermann von Kalinowski (1823–1886), major general
  • Anna (Nanny) (1844–1812) ⚭ Hans Joachim Ernst von Zieten (1839–1919)
