The Lugano-Agno Airport (officially Lugano Airport ) is a Swiss airport in Ticino . It is named after the municipality of Agno , a place near the city of Lugano . The airport operator had to file for bankruptcy in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic .

Location and transport links

The airport facilities (especially the runway) are on the territory of three municipalities: Agno , Bioggio and Muzzano .

The Agno train station of the FLP (Lugano-Ponte-Tresa-Bahn) is a 10-minute walk from the terminal. This means that Lugano-Agno is integrated into the Ticino S-Bahn network via the S60 line . The journey to Lugano FLP train station in downtown Lugano takes 16 minutes.
