Macarena Rocío Reyes Meneses (born March 30, 1984 in San Fernando ) is a Chilean long jumper , who also competes in various other disciplines.

Athletic career

Macarena Reyes gained her first international experience at the South American Youth Championships in Bogotá in 2000 , where she won the silver medal in the long jump with 5.66 m and took sixth place in the 100-meter hurdles with 14.84 s. The following year, she retired at the Youth World Championships in Debrecen with 5.42 m in qualification and was then eighth with a width of 5.45 m at the Junior South American Championships in Santa Fe . In addition, she finished fourth in the Chilean 4 x 100 meter relay in 47.49 s. In 2002 she won at the Junior South American Championships in Belém the silver medal in 4683 with points Heptathlon and in 47,11 s bronze with the Chilean's shot. The following year she was at the South American Championships in Barquisimeto with 5.82 m and 12.42 m fourth and eighth in the long and triple jump and ran with the 4-by-400-meter relay in 3: 45.72 minutes in fifth place. In 2007 she finished seventh in the triple jump at the South American Championships in Cali with 12.84 m, and in 2006 she finished fifth and sixth at the U23 South American Championships in Buenos Aires . After a year without competitions, Reyes won the bronze medal in the heptathlon at the Ibero-American Championships in Iquique in 2008 with 5278 points . The following year she had to admit defeat only to the Brazilian Vanessa Spínola at the South American Championships in Lima with 5360 points . Two years later she was at the South American Championships in Buenos Aires with 5.89 m fifth in the long jump and had to end her heptathlon early. Then she retired at the Summer Universiade in Shenzhen with 5.82 m in qualification and could not finish her all-around competition there either. In 2012 she won the silver medal at the Ibero-American Championships with 6.14 m. In 2013 she celebrated her greatest success to date by winning the title at the South American Championships in Cartagena , where she jumped 6.54 m. She qualified for the World Championships in Moscow , where she was eliminated with 5.93 m in qualification.

In 2014 she was fourth at the South American Games in Santiago de Chile with 5.97 m and fifth at the South American Championships in Lima with 6.15 m. She then reached the 13th place at the Pan American Games in Toronto with a width of 5.99 m. In the following year she finished fifth at the Ibero-American Championships in Rio de Janeiro with 5.96 m and in 2017 she won silver at the South American Championships in Luque with 6.51 m behind Brazilian Eliane Martins . She also won the silver medal at the Juegos Bolivarianos in Santa Marta with 6.34 m. In 2018 she finished fifth at the South American Games in Cochabamba with a jump of 6.53 m. In 2019 she won the bronze medal behind the Brazilians Martins and Keila Costa at the South American Championships in Lima with a width of 6.36 m . She qualified for the Pan American Games there , where she came 13th with 3.14 m. The following year she was fourth at the first indoor South American Championships in Cochabamba with a new national record of 6.27 m.

In 2005, 2006 and 2019 Reyes was Chilean champion in the triple jump and in 2019 also in the long jump.
