Magdaleniec ( German Magdalenz ) is a small village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Gmina Nidzica (urban and rural community Neidenburg ) in the powiat Nidzicki ( Neidenburg district ).
Geographical location
Magdaleniec with the small pond in the center of the village is located in the southwestern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , six kilometers east of the district town of Nidzica ( German Neidenburg ).
history
The village, then called Magdalenietz , is said to have been founded before 1498. Between 1874 and 1945 it was incorporated into the district of Bartoschken (in Polish : Bartoszki ), which - renamed in 1938 to the district of Bartzdorf (Ostpr.) - belonged to the East Prussian district of Neidenburg .
In 1910 there were 138 residents registered in Magdalenz. Their number decreased to 136 by 1933 and was only 119 in 1939.
With the entire southern East Prussia Magda Lenz was in consequence of the war in 1945 Poland transferred. The village received the Polish name form "Magdaleniec" and is today with the seat of a Schulzenamt (Polish Sołectwo ) a place in the network of Gmina Nidzica (town and country municipality Neidenburg ) in the powiat Nidzicki ( Neidenburg district ), until 1998 of the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmia and Mazury belong. In 2011 Magdaleniec had 118 inhabitants.

Before 1945 Magdalenz was incorporated into the Protestant parish church of Neidenburg in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union , and also into the Roman Catholic parish church of Neidenburg in what was then the diocese of Warmia .
Today Magdaleniec belongs on the Protestant side to the Holy Cross Church Nidzica in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland , on the Catholic side to the subsidiary church Grzegórzki (Gregersdorf) of the parish Napiwoda (Grünfließ) in the current Archdiocese of Warmia .

Magdaleniec is located south of Voivodship Road 604 and can be reached from there via the Grzegórzki junction on a side road that leads to Piotrowice (Piotrowitz , 1932 to 1945 Alt Petersdorf) and Zagrzewo (Sagsau) . There is no connection to rail traffic .
