Painter of the Paris Gigantomachy
The so-called painter of the Paris Gigantomachie (Engl. Painter of the Paris gigantomachy ) (active around 490- 470 v. Chr. ) Was an Attic vase painter of the red-figure style. He received his emergency name after the bowl 573 in the Paris Bibliothèque nationale de France , Cabinet des Médailles . Stylistically he was close to the Brygos painter , in whose immediate vicinity he was probably active. Presumably he belonged to the group of painters who were regularly commissioned by the potter Brygos to paint the vessels he made.
