The Hermaios Painter was a Greek vase painter who worked towards the end of the 6th century BC. Chr. In Athens worked.

The Hermaios Painter was one of the relatively early red-figure bowl painters . His creative period is around 530 to 500 BC. BC. The name of the Hermaios painter has not survived, which is why John D. Beazley , who recognized and defined his artistic handwriting within the large traditional body of antique painted ceramics , made it distinguishable with an emergency name . He received this emergency name after four bowls that he decorated and signed by the potter Hermaios . He also worked, probably after his employment with Hermaios, for the potter Kachrylion .

The Hermaios Painter is regarded as a painter of secondary importance, but still a good vase painter. Some details of his work, for example double borders on the upper edges of the chitons of his figures, are reminiscent of the contemporary painters of larger vessels and even the painters of the pioneer group . His figures are reminiscent of those of Oltos , who also worked temporarily for the potter Kachrylion. They look a bit clumsy and sleepy, especially the heads look heavy.
