Thaliarchos painter
The Thaliarchos Painter was a Greek vase painter who worked in the late 6th century BC. Chr. In Athens worked.
The Thaliarchos painter was one of the early red-figure bowl painters who was active around the same time as the so-called " pioneer group " of the red-figure style. Like the other bowl painters, the Thaliarchos painter did not test the possibilities of the new technique to the same depth as the representatives of the pioneer group, due to the comparatively smaller working surface of the bowls - the inside and the two outer sides - but they too did their part contributes to the success of the new style. The Thaliarchos painter is primarily known for his painting of several lids of pyxides . Although he was able to write and left inscriptions on his works , his name has not been passed down by a signature, which is why John D. Beazley made him distinguishable with an emergency name .
