Positions

Ecology and peace

Bildungswerk has been negotiating the problems of lifestyle , anti-atomic movement , ecology and environmental protection in the sense of the demands of the Club of Rome and the program of the World Council of Churches (WCC) for a conciliar process for peace, justice and the integrity of creation and the green movement from the beginning granted their first public forum in Berlin.

Pedagogy, Comenius research and Comenian practice

At the national as well as the European level, Richter exemplified the adult education - practicing the consultation of public affairs by "everyone" - which was first discussed as part of the necessary lifelong learning by the founder of modern education, Jan Amos Komenský , called Comenius practiced in relation to current critical issues in the fields of science / education , politics / society and church / religion .

Contemporary art and church

The fundamental importance of aesthetics for religious education as well as for theology itself led to the demand for reflection and practice of the encounter between church and art , which has traditionally been neglected, especially in the Protestant field. With the art service of the Protestant Church (founded in Dresden in 1928, abolished in 2005), based at the Berlin Cathedral , were meeting with artists of contemporary art carried out exhibitions and symposiums. Richter moderated the conference of art commissioners and art services.

Ecumenism

Since the ecumenical "Spring" by the II. Vatican Council (1959-1962) and theological reasonable possibility opened to the cooperation of churches in too reconciling Christianity dominated judge activity in the Tubingen student community in the village community work in the Wuerttemberg church in the Berlin and European adult education as well as in the activity of the art service at the Berlin Cathedral. They led to decades of close ties to the Armenian Apostolic Church (award of the Order of St. Nerses Schnorhali ) and to the entire local ecumenical community in Berlin, to several ecumenical art projects and to ecumenical-political initiatives.
