Marcel Reymond (born July 7, 1911 ; † unknown) was a Swiss ski jumper .

Career

Reymond took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships in Innsbruck in 1933 and won the gold medal on Bergiselschanze ahead of Rudolf Burkert and Sven Selånger . He improved the old hill record, which had been 47.5 m since 1927 to 70.5 m. However, the Austrian Josef Gumpold landed with the same distance . The hill record only lasted for one day. On February 13, 1933, it was surpassed by the Norwegian Birger Ruud by a further 3.5 m to 74 m and then remained in place for 22 years. Reymond was the first Swiss ski jumper to win a gold medal at a world championship. It wasn't until 1972 that a Swiss, Walter Steiner , won a gold medal again before Simon Ammann became world champion in Sapporo in 2007 .
