Arnfinn Bergmann (born October 14, 1928 in Trondheim , † February 13, 2011 ) was a Norwegian ski jumper and football player .

Career

In the winter of 1947/48 he was Norwegian football champions with Freidig FK . In the same year he also became Norwegian junior champion in ski jumping, and so he subsequently focused on winter sports in his career.

He won the bronze medal at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lake Placid in 1950 and the gold medal at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo, home on Holmenkollbakken . Since the Nordic World Ski Championships were held as part of the Olympic Games, he was also world champion with his Olympic victory.

In 1953/54 he took part in the Four Hills Tournament. He reached 21st in Oberstdorf, fourth in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, third in Innsbruck and second in Bischofshofen. In 1952, 1953 and 1958 he became Norwegian champion. In 1956 Bergmann received the Holmenkollen Medal , and three years later he ended his career.

Arnfinn Bergmann died on February 13, 2011 after a short illness.
