Marco Seefried (born February 17, 1976 in Wemding ) is a German racing car driver .

Racing career

At the end of the 1990s, Marco Seefried bought his first racing kart with saved money and drove kart races for a number of years . The entry into the monoposto sport was achieved through Formula König , where he achieved sixth championship rank in 1994. In the following years, Seefried had to interrupt his driving career again and again in order to earn the necessary financial means for racing as a racing mechanic.

From the beginning of the 2000s, he only competed in touring and GT races . After finishing ninth overall in the 2001 German Renault Clio Sport Trophy , he switched to the Porsche Supercup in 2002 . In 2006 he contested his first race in the European Le Mans Series and in 2008 he took part in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring for the first time . In 2016 he and his partners Christian Vietoris , Christian Hohenadel and Renger van der Zande achieved second place overall in this 24-hour race in a Mercedes-AMG GT3 .

Marco Seefried has competed in races on every continent and has competed in a large number of racing series, including the FIA World Endurance Championship , the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Blancpain Sprint Series .
