Irigoyen, who started tennis at the age of seven, plays mostly ITF tournaments. So far, she has won 17 singles and 60 doubles titles at the ITF Women's Circuit .
Irigoyen has already qualified for a Grand Slam tournament 13 times ; so far she has not been able to reach the main field. In February 2008 she competed in Buenos Aires against Austria for the first time for Argentina in the Fed Cup . She was able to win 21 of her previous 39 Fed Cup games.
She secured her first title on the WTA Tour in 2014 at the clay court tournament in Rio de Janeiro in doubles. In 2015 she was there, again at the side of Irina-Camelia Begu , again in the final, which she had to give up this time in the first set when the score was 0: 3. Also in 2016 she reached the final there, which she was able to use together with Verónica Cepede Royg from Paraguay to win her second WTA title.
Irigoyen played her last international tournament so far in August 2018. She is therefore no longer in the world rankings.
